Berikut ini komponen-komponen sistem pelumasan :
 
Sistem pelumasan oli berfungsi untuk mensuplai oli ke permukaan bantalan - bantalan dari semua bagian yang bergerak. Terdiri dari beberapa komponen yang saling terkait. Ingin tahu lebih lanjut? Berikut ini komponen-komponen sistem pelumasan :
  • Oli Pelumas
    Pelumas yang digunakan adalah oli mineral dengan tambahan bahan kimia yang bervariasi. Oli mesin dibuat dalam derajat kualitas, viskositas atau kekentalan yang berbeda.
  • Pompa Oli
    Pompa oli biasanya ditempatkan pada tutup peti engkol untuk mensuplai oli dalam panci oli digerakkan dari poros engkol atau poros kam melalui perantaraan roda gigi atau sebuah poros penggerak, tergantung dari lokasi dan lay out mesin. Pompa jenis roda gigi dan pompa pemindah positif yang lain juga digunakan.
  • Klep Relief Tekanan
    Klep relief tekanan oli dipasang pada bodi pompa atau saluran utama oli. Klep ini mencegah tekanan dari suplai yang terlalu besar jika mesin dioperasikan pada kecepatan tinggi atau jika oli dingin dan tipis.
  • Indikator Tekanan
    Adalah suatu sakelar tekanan atau unit sender/pengukur dipasang pada saluran utama oli, menutup ke saluran pengeluaran (outlet) pompa  yang dioperasikan dengan sebuah lampu peringatan pada panel instrumen jika ada tekanan oli.
  • Sistem Distribusi Oli
    Merupakan hubungan seri dari saluran oli utama yang dialiri oli ke berbagai mesin guna mensuplai pelumasan dan pendinginan.
  • Panci Oli
    Berupa tangki untuk menyimpan oli yang diperlukan pada sistem pelumasan dan diletakkan pada dasar mesin. Untuk memompanya diperlukan suatu pompa oli yang dipasang pada panci oli.
  • Batang Pemeriksa
    Suatu alat yang berbentuk batang dari baja untuk mengetahui ketinggian atau kedalaman cadangan oli di dalam panci. Batang pemeriksa dipasang pada suatu pipa semacam tabung yang dilekatkan pada peti engkol atau panci oli.
  • Tutup Saringan Oli
    Dipasang untuk memungkinkan pengisian oli dari atas mesin. Terletak pada tube/pipa yang terdapat pada peti engkol atau penci oli, umumnya pada bagian atas pengangkat katup.
  • Saringan Oli
    Digunakan untuk melepaskan debu, kotoran, karbon, dan partikel lain di luar bahan oli dan menjaga kebersihan elemen.
  • Klep Bypas
    Dipasang pada sistem saringan aliran penuh. Klep bypas dibuka jika saringan diblok/tertutup kotoran atau tersumbat sehingga oli dapat mengalir dan melumasi bagian-bagian mesin.
  • Sistem Ventilasi Peti Engkol
    Beberapa mesin termasuk diesel menggunakan sistem ventilasi dimana tabung kecil dialirkan ke bawah mesin dengan aliran tekanan udara yang dimasukkan melalui tutup saringan pengisi oli.
  • Pendingin Oli
    Pada beberapa kendaraan, menggunakan pendingin oli untuk mengedarkan udara yang mengalir melalui permukaan panci oli ke penyerap panas sederhana yang berfungsi seperti radiator pendingin mesin.
